Lord is presently performing. He is-
1. Holding this whole earth and vast universe together – Col. 1:16, 17, Rev. 1:8
2. Ruling & directing over all angels, authorities & powers – I Pet. 3:22, Eph. 1:20-22,
Dan. 7:10, Rev. 5:11, 12:4
3. Seeking & Saving those who come to Him as Savior by faith alone – Lk. 19:10, Heb. 7:25,
Rom. 10:9,10,13 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ & you shall be saved.”
4. Keeping Secure those who come to Him as Savior through faith alone – (eternal security)
John 10:28, Rom. 8:38,39, I Pet. 1:3-5, Jude 24 (& many more verses)
5. Making a new creation out of each believer in Him – II Cor. 5:17, 3:18, (Our part-
II Pet. 3:18a) (O.T. illustration – Moses Ex. 34:29-35)
6. Serving as Head of the Universal church – Eph. 1:22-23 (through local churches
around the world), Col. 1:18
7. Seeking to meet the needs of Local Churches – Rev. 3:14-22 (17,18) (via counsel, comfort
through the knowledge of His presence)
8. Serving as High Priest, praying, mediating between God and men, forgiving, hearing &
answering prayer – Heb. 7:25, Rom. 8:34, I Tim. 2:5, I Jn. 1:9, 2:1, 5:14, 15
9. Offering help to each believer when he/she is tempted to sin – Heb. 2:18
10. Helping from Heaven as each believer seeks to bear witness about Him – Matt. 28:18-20,
Heb. 13:5b,6 (Also the Holy Spirit is involved in several of these activities)
11. Preparing a place in His Father’s House for each believer in Him – John 14:1,2 *Reservations Required (*Remember our Lord Jesus was a Carpenter!)
12. Receiving the spirits of Believers in Him who die prior to His Second Coming – II Cor. 5:6, Act. 7:59, Ps. 116:15, Jn. 17:24, Lk. 16:19-23
13. Waiting at the Door of Heaven in readiness to return to earth to receive believers in Him to Himself and their heavenly home – James 5:9b
14. Calling to believers in Him as Savior to come to Him for rest and to meet needs and to praise, worship and obey Him – Matt. 11:28-30, Ps. 117:1,2, 95:6, Jn. 14:15
